Full Time Librarian We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced librarian to manage the resources in our library. This position requires an understanding of designing, developing and managing collections of recorded material and the delivery of information services to users. Librarian We are an international school in Sukhumvit that teaches the Singaporean curriculum to children of age 2 years old to 12 years old. We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced librarian to manage the resources in our library. This position requires an understanding of designing, developing and managing collections of recorded material and the delivery of information services to users. The duties and personal qualities of a librarian can be itemised as follow: Duties: • Acquisition Select and acquire all types of information materials such as books, audiovisual materials, CD-ROMs, computer files, maps, technical reports from all around the world • Cataloguing Organise information materials based on international methods for users to retrieve or access the information quickly and easily • Serials Organise, manage and provide access to information materials in serial formats such as journals, periodicals and microfilm • Reference Assist users to obtain information from print and electronic sources • Circulation Maintain and manage loan systems for users to borrow information materials and documents from the library; and provide users with access to external sources of information • Automation Set up and maintain sophisticated computerised systems and databases to integrate work processes • Management Plan and manage information services in a rapidly changing technological and service environment; and supervise people from a wide variety of discipline and backgrounds • Others Manage media resources, on-line searching, bibliographic instruction, collections development, indexing, storytelling, programme management, etc. Personal Qualities: • Good general knowledge and a love for reading • Appreciate and understand the information needs of users • Familiar with various library databases and ready to help users • Neat and methodical in your work • Able to speak and write well • Excellent organisational skills • Good communication skills • High level customer service skills Entry Requirements: • Thai national (Other nationalities may be considered) • Good command of English • Excellent knowledge of word, excel and / or database application programmes • Preferably with a teaching degree or diploma in education Applications can be submitted online to the Principal by 31 March 2008 at [mail][/mail] .
