in the case of Tata and her fiance, they are both from a high social position, mainly because of their celebrity status. So the groom has made an appropriately large sinsort offer. How does 100 million baht (about 3 million USD) sound? They showed it on TV. There was a big pile of cash. But it's hard to get that much cash since our largest bank note is 1,000 baht. So there was also a big box of gold bars and the ring which was pretty giant (no sure the size, I missed that).
