Meeting Discusses Plans to Use Funds for Tourists Affected by Criminals.


On Thursday a meeting chaired by Khun Prateep, the chief of Banglamung District, was held at the Royal Cliff Hotel to discuss the best ways of utilizing funds to help tourists who may have been the victims of crimes while on holidays in Pattaya.
After noting that crime was down in the city, at least according to those whose job it is to provide the statistics, the Banglamung chief moved on to praise the work of the local police, the finest money can buy.
Khun Prateep said around 120 business people had provided just over one million baht to a fund designed to help compensate tourists for criminal activity. The Banglamung chief said he would give some really nice framed certificates to the business people who had handed over wads of cash.
The meeting agreed to appoint four people to form a sub-committee who would look into ways of obtaining even more monetary donations which would be put into the fund and used to help compensate tourists.
