Voluntary work needed by historian/archivist/librarian

The Scandinavian Society in Siam - SSS has been active since 1920 both formerly and real. This has created a substantial archive, with material also older than 1920. However the main volume is from the time after the Second World War. The archive has been living a quite miserable life during many years. Beeing moved around at different locations many times and exposed both to "borrowers" and a difficult climate.

For some time it has been a work going on to gather all the papers, sort these and register them for shipment to The National Archive in Copenhagen (Rigsarkivet), which has stated that they are ready to receive the material.

However it is now nessecary to speed up the process on our side, since it is now clear that it takes quite a lot of time to do the nessecary things:
- sort the papers systematically
- remove all "unfriendly" material such as paper clips, plastic sheets, metall bindings etc.
- register all the papers in a database
- pack the papers into proper files specially made for the purpose
- mark the files
- make content list for each file
- pack the files into boxes
- make shipment lists for each box
- take a copy of important papers such as the protocols for the Boards more than 1.100 board meetings and the nearly 100 AGMs back to 1920 to be kept in Bangkok before it all will be abit more unavailable for bangkokians after the move to Copenhagen.

The files are by now stored in about 16 moving boxes, which anyone with some space in their apartment/office can take. Trygve will as an educated librarian continue to supervise the project which has to follow certain rules for filing and archiving until the final shipment to Copenhagen.

The Board of SSS will gladly receive any application for this work. The applicant must be fluent in any Scandinavian language (Swedish, Danish or Norwegian) and English, since the material are in these languages, and be able to work systematically, thoroughly and solemnly.
