Jørgen Ib Hedes, a long time resident and one of the most well-known Danes in Thailand, passed away in his home in Denmark on Tuesday 6 March 2007.
Jørgen Ib Hedes was last year operated in Bangkok for cancer but it was not possible to halt the illness, which after a brief recovery came back and eventually accelerated.
Only this Saturday was he visited by the son of the owner of the company, he worked for till the end, Sun Paratech, and he was eager making plans for what kind of tasks he could perform for the company while in Denmark. Only to succumb to his illness less than three days later.
Jørgen Ib Hedes was a passionate person. At times his tongue was known to be as sharp as his mind. At the same time, he was a remarkably warm hearted person. To his many friends his passing away is a great loss.
