Art Exhibition by Danish Artist Marianne Hvass Kure, Hof Art Gallery Bangkok, February 2007

You are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition on the month of love at Hof art gallery

Exhibition “Zen-erQi” on 2nd floor (Gray floor)

By the Danish artist Marianne Hvass Kure, presently living and creating in Thailand .


This exhibition features oil and mix-media on canvas, pieces made during the last year, merging Eastern and Western perceptions of Art and Life.

Marianne Hvass Kure works from her studio by the ocean in Pha La, a small fishing-village near Sattahip. She creates abstract art, inspired by Nature, People and the essential themes of life and death. In addition to solo exhibitions, she has recently exhibited with Thai and foreign artists, contributing to the current contemporary art movement in Thailand .


The exhibition title “Zen-erQI” reflects on the changes happening to Marianne’s artistic expression while living in Asia . She is influenced by studies of Eastern techniques, both the modern method of “Ink-and-wash”, traditional Chinese brush painting and calligraphy. This serves as foundation for experimenting with western abstract technique, using the blue and metal colors of her Scandinavian background, in combination with the simplicity of Eastern artwork.


The opening reception is on Friday 2 February 2007
