Three dead, 99 hurt in Thailand train crash. Posted: 14 January 2007 1622 hrs BANGKOK : Three people were killed and 99 injured, four of them foreigners, when two trains collided early Sunday at a small-town rail station near the Thai beach resort of Hua Hin, officials said. A northbound train heading to Bangkok ran through a signal and hit a southbound train waiting for the signal to switch at the station near Hua Hin, some 300 kilometres (185 miles) south of the capital, police said. The conductor was killed instantly, while two others - a technician and the train's food vendor - died in hospital, they said. Some 99 people were taken to hospitals for treatment, including two Taiwanese, one Italian and one German, who were all treated and released. Five were admitted but were not in serious condition, according to the Narathorn Emergency Medical Center. Siva Saengmanee, chairman of the state railway association's board, said a committee had been set up to investigate the accident, which caused an estimated 150 million baht (4.1 million dollars) in damage. Ja, jeg fulgte det godt i tv igår - Alligevel hørte jeg ikke noget "brag" og har ikke været oppe i kigge på uheldsstedet... Så ret vildt ud med væltede togvogne og det hele... Ved heller ikke hvad de tænker på, de har kun 1 spor, og så sender de 2 tog samme vej... Skulle jo ske på et eller andet tidspunkt...
