I friske fyre, som styrer denne webside, I må da kunne finde ud af, hvad der sker med den nye lufthavn, Suvarnabhumi. Det sidste jeg husker at have læst er, at den åbner ca. 1/7/2006, men ingen af de sider om lufthavnen, jeg har kendskab til, har endnu ikke turde sætte en åbningsdag på. mvh jc Boet i Bangkok 1980-1983.

Jeg rejser til Thailand d. 4. Juli, og det lyder ikke til at man skulle forvente den nye lufthavn færdig i år. Men skal nok give besked ligeså snart jeg ved noget.  |

OK  Men vi må da håbe at den snart står færdig, uden yderligere forsinkelser... Jeg har hørt fra en bekendt thaier, at den muligvis udskydes til August-September...

Vi må bare håbe - Selvom det nok ender sådan - At de ikke holder samme tidsplan som IC4 togene - Som var planlagt indsat i efteråret 2004 Men glæder mig da til den nye lufthavn, den ser flot ud...

Som det ser ud lige nu, tror jeg det har lange udsigter Internationale experter vil ikke godkende start ig landningsbaner i den nye lufthavn, pga betonen er for dårlig kvalitet, og ikke kan bærer de stor fly som forventes at lande i bkk. Det er den sidste info fra "Flight International" Men vi må se hvad der sker

Har netop fundet denne meddelelse på nettet: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Intl: Location: 25 km/15 Miles ESE of the city centre. By Train: A train link to the city is expected to open in 2007. Konen og jeg har lige overnattet på Grann Inn Come hotel hvor der er god udsigt til den nye lufthavn (jeg havde værelse på 8. sal). Vi har familie der bor lige i nærheden, så det sker at vi lige nupper en overnatning på vej til eller fra f.eks. Isan. Link: http://www.inncom... Et ganske udemærket hotel til 1.000 bath pr. dobbeltværelse pr. dag (har også nogle virkeligt lækre værelser med stue osv. til 1.350 bath). Inkluderet i prisen er iøvrigt morgenmadsbuffet. Taxi til Seacon shopping center ca. 130 bath. Bare et lille tip hvis nogle kommer forbi Bangkok og vil kigge den nye lufthavn ud. Suvarnabhumi Airport to open before October Caretaker Transport Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal confirmed that Bangkok's new Suvarnabhumi Airport would be opened for commercial services before the high season would begin in October. He said the Board on Suvarnabhumi Airport Development is unlikely to set a schedule for the opening of the airport for commercial services at its meeting on Thursday because there is a delay in certain construction works. However, officials concerned would accelerate the construction to ensure readiness for the opening of the airport services as soon as possible, he noted. He said the ministry would attempt to have the airport opened prior to October when a large number of tourists would arrive in Thailand because it is the high season. In that period, a number of flights will increase significantly, making it difficult to manage the new airport. It must take some time for the airport to accommodate the large number of passengers. Mr. Pongsak said the airport's commercial services would take place along with the ''soft opening'' ceremony for the transfer of flight operation services from the Don Muang Airport to the Suvarnabhumi Airport. The grand opening ceremony of the airport could be officially set when the high season ends, the minister said. (TNA) |

Fra avisen The Nation 4 juni 2006: Suvarnabhumi Airport to be opened in July as scheduled: Chidchai Acting caretaker Prime Minister Chidchai Vanasatidya Saturday denied that the new Suvarnabhumi Airport's runways had developed cracks. He said anyone who said the runways had developed cracks should back it up with fact or else rumours or untrue reports would cause damages to the country. Chidchai said the new airport would be opened in July as scheduled. He said he would call a meeting of Cabinet members concerned with the airport construction to a meeting after the weekly Cabinet meeting on Tuesday - og tror vi så lige på den?mvh jc Boet i Bangkok 1980-1983.

Jeg har skrevet før om dette emne. Lufthavnen åbener med sikkerhed på et eller andet tidspunkt. Det seneste rygte er dettte: Suvarnabhumi Airport set to open on Sept 28 BANGKOK, June 8 (TNA) - Bangkok's new Suvarnabhumi Airport is now set to open for commercial purposes on September 28, the Transport Ministry announced here on Wednesday. The opening date of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport was set recently by the government commmittee on management and development of the new airport, Deputies Transport Minister Gen.Chainant Charoensiri and Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai told a press conference after a meeting here Wednesday with the board of directors of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), the national flag carrier. A new committee comprising of representatives of all parties concerned, including Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd. (AOT), the Customs Department, the Immigration Bureau, THAI and other international airlines, would also be set up to oversee the relocation of Bangkok's internatonal airport from the Don Muang Airport to the Suvarnabhumi Airport, the two ministers said. The committee set-up will be complete by June 17 when Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will chair a meeting of all the parties concerned to review all projects and plans involving the Suvarnabhumi Airport, including the remaining construction and decoration works, to ensure that the new airport will be opened as scheduled, according to the ministers. Gen. Chainant oversees AOT, while Mr. Phumtham supervises THAI. "Construction and decoration works at the Suvarnabhumi Airport have been nearly complete at the moment. Only some minor works are to be settled over the next four months; so, I can say we're now ready for the opening of the new airport," said Gen. Chainant. THAI will begin moving its offices from the Don Muang Airport in early September and will completely move to the new airport the night before its opening on September 28, according to the company's top management.
